This chapter supplements 761—Chapter 400. It applies to salvage motor vehicles and foreign motor vehicles brought into Iowa that are or were salvage, rebuilt or junked. This chapter applies only to motor vehicles subject to registration except that owners of vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating of 30,000 pounds or more are not required to submit a salvage theft examination certificate to convert a salvage title to a regular title.
