Section 701.15.5. Recovery of bad debts by collection agency or attorney.

When bad debts have been charged off and later recovered in whole, or in part, through the services of a collection agency or an attorney, the full amount of the debt recovered shall be included with the gross sales for the period which the collection was made. The services of an agency or attorney are services purchased by a retailer and shall not reduce the gross amount collected for the retailer by the agency or attorney.
This rule is intended to implement Iowa Code sections 422.42(16), 422.46, and 423.1(10).
