Section 661.121.15. Reports.

Latest version.
  • Any private investigative agency licensee who provides services to any client in this state shall make and offer to the client a typed or legibly written ink report containing the findings and complete details of the investigation, a copy of which shall be retained by the licensee for three years and made available to the commissioner for examination at any reasonable time upon a complaint from the client for whom the report was prepared. In the event a client does not desire a written report, the licensee will note the time and date on the file copy of the report that the client stated no desire for a written report or refused the offer. A private security agency need not submit a written report unless the client so requests one.

Descriptive reports, chronological reports, and cover letters to the client shall be personally signed by the licensee or the licensee’s designee. The licensee’s file copy will reflect the names of all participating employees and a description of the work performed by each one.
