Section 657.8.6. Health of personnel.

Only personnel authorized by the responsible pharmacist shall be in the immediate vicinity of the drug dispensing, preparation, compounding, or storage areas. Any person shown, either by medical examination or pharmacist determination, to have an apparent illness or open lesions that may adversely affect the quality or safety of a drug product or another individual shall be excluded from direct contact with components, bulk drug substances, drug product containers, closures, in-process materials, drug products, and patients until the condition is corrected or determined by competent medical personnel not to jeopardize the quality or safety of drug products or patients. All personnel who normally assist the pharmacist shall be instructed to report to the pharmacist any health conditions that may have an adverse effect on drug products or may pose a health or safety risk to others.
