Section 657.35.8. Telephone or network proceedings.

The presiding officer may resolve preliminary procedural motions by telephone conference or by a conference on the Iowa Communications Network (ICN) in which all parties have an opportunity to participate. Other telephone or network proceedings, including the hearing for the contested case proceeding, may be held when appropriate under the circumstances. The presiding officer will determine the location of the parties and witnesses for telephone or network hearings. The convenience of the witnesses or parties, as well as the nature of the case, will be considered when location is chosen.
