The normal business hours of the department are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, except legal holidays. One notable exception is the vital records section, which staffs a customer service window just inside the north entrance of the Lucas State Office Building from 7 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., Monday through Friday, except legal holidays.
