The provisions of rule 2.1(80B) do not need to be reverified by officers when jurisdictions enter into an intergovernmental agreement under the provisions of Iowa Code chapter 28E for the sharing of law enforcement services by those jurisdictions and officers if the execution, filing and recording of the agreement conform to the requirements of Iowa law and a certified copy is provided to the director of the academy; however, this does not apply to the establishment of a unified law enforcement district as defined in Iowa Code section 28E.21, wherein a new legal entity or political subdivision is established.
