Section 441.175.33. Child protection centers.

Latest version.
  • The department may contract with designated child protection centers for assistance in conducting child abuse assessments. When a child who is the subject of an assessment is interviewed by staff at a child protection center, that interview may be used in conjunction with an interview conducted by the child protection worker. Written reports developed by the child protection center shall be provided to the child protection worker and may be included in the assessment case record. Video or audio records are considered to be part of the assessment process and shall be maintained by the child protection center under the same confidentiality provisions of Iowa Code section 217.30 and 441—Chapter 9. Services or assistance from a child protection center will not be available through a family assessment. Law enforcement may refer families as appropriate.
