Section 281.56.10. Scope of services.

Latest version.
  •  All necessary vocational rehabilitation services, including counseling, physical restoration, training, and placement, are made available to eligible individuals to the extent necessary to achieve their goal to be competitively employed in an integrated work setting and must be included in the IPE and agreed to by the eligible individual’s counselor before the service is delivered. The division cooperates with federal and other state agencies providing vocational rehabilitation or similar services, and written agreements providing for interagency cooperation may be entered into as required by the Act at the discretion of the division. In selected instances, the division assumes responsibility for providing short periods of medical care for acute conditions arising in the course of the job candidate’s rehabilitation, which if not cared for would constitute a hazard to the achievement of the rehabilitation objective unless comparable services or benefits are available to the individual. Worker’s compensation assumes all medical expenses for adult job candidates that are the direct result of an injury while participating in an unpaid work experience developed by division staff and implemented under an IPE. Such injuries of students are the responsibility of the local education agency when provided under an individual education plan.
