The department of administrative services (DAS) is established in Iowa Code chapter 8A. The department manages and coordinates the major resources of state government, including the human, financial, physical and informational resources. The department was created to implement a world-class, customer-focused organization that provides a complement of valued products and services to the internal customers of state government.
The mission of the department is to provide high-quality, affordable infrastructure products and services to its customers—Iowa state government and other government entities—in a manner that allows them to provide better service to the citizens of Iowa and to support the state of Iowa in achieving economic growth.
